With their first interview airing on A Current Affair last Tuesday, 21st October 2008 and gracing the front pages of the Womans Weekly this month, Bec and Lleyton Hewitt are set to begin a month long fundraising auction on their Australian owned website eSwap.com.au with all proceeds going to Cure Our Kids. Items being auctioned during November include personal items donated by Bec and Lleyton Hewitt along with items from; Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Ana Ivanovic, William Shatner, Russell Crowe, Toni Collette, Andre Agassi, Steffi Graf, Gwen Stefani, Rudy Guilliani, Miranda Otto and Hugh Jackman. Lleyton says, “Both Bec and I have been overwhelmed by the generosity shown by many of our friends both here and on the world stage. “Rafael Nadal has donated the racquet he used to win the 2008 Wimbledon final,Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi both donated tennis racquets while Roger Federer gave us the shirt off his own back!” All funds raised through this project will be directed towards our work dedicated to improving the quality of life of kids with cancer and their families at The Children's Hospital at Westmead. This project will help us put a smile on the faces of children who are courageously facing their battle with cancer, while giving their families the support they need to cope. To bid on one of over 100 items, simply click here. Once registered as a user, your online support can begin. A TV and Radio community service announcement featuring Bec and Lleyton Hewitt plus some of our special kids has also been created to help promote this generous project. To view click here. Cure Our Kids would like to thank the following for their generous and much appreciated support in this project - eSwap, Travelscene American Express and British Airways. ![]()
