The Kenmore Bears are one of the fastest growing junior Australian Football Clubs in Brisbane, with about 300 registered players in teams aged from under 8's to 16's. In addition, up to 100 local children a year participate in the successful Auskick programme which introduces them to the skills of Australian Football prior to becoming part of an under-age team.

Kenmore prides itself on being a "family" club. Our emphasis is on developing a range of football skills among all children and providing a safe and comfortable environment in which to play the game. We are also fortunate to have a large number of parents who volunteer their services in a number of areas to ensure the smooth functioning of the Club.

The Kenmore Bears are affiliated with the AFL Brisbane Juniors and AFL Qld, with its junior teams playing in various divisions against other clubs in the south-east Queensland region.

The club's catchment area covers Chapel Hill, Fig Tree Pocket, Moggill, Bellbowrie, Pullenvale, Brookfield, Karana Downs and Anstead, but welcomes players from other districts interested in playing for the Bears.

The Bears play at home at Akuna Oval, Kenmore and as leasees of the ground, are responsible for the upkeep of and excellent playing surface and maintaining facilities such as its clubhouse and ground lighting.

Kenmore has a short but proud history in Australian Football. Among those who played their junior football at the Club and have gone on to play senior AFL football include the Brisbane Lions Mal Michael and St Kilda's Max Hudghton. Former Kenmore junior, Ed McDonnell has been recruited to play for the Saints from 2005.
